The 27th MFC Annual Conference

The management team of Microbank MBC participated in the 27th Annual Conference organized by the Microfinance Centre (MFC), titled "Change, Shocks and Solutions: Microfinance in the Shadow of Geopolitics." Supported by the National Bank of Georgia, the event took place in Tbilisi on May 27–29.
The primary objective of the conference was to discuss the development of inclusive finance and opportunities for increasing access in the face of global challenges such as geopolitical risks and climate change.
The conference was attended by over 400 delegates from various countries, including representatives of financial institutions, investment funds, financial regulators, policymaking bodies, and innovative social finance companies. Key topics included sustainable lending, women's empowerment, digital innovations, and impact assessment.
MBC's Chief Risk Officer, Nino Devdariani, participated in a panel discussion titled "The Microfinance Sector in Georgia: A Model of Sustainability in a Changing Region," where she discussed the sector's role in ensuring economic stability and financial inclusion.
According to Nino Devdariani, sustainability in the microfinance sector means more than just adapting to change; it is about strengthening long-term trust, accessibility, and financial inclusion at the societal level.
