On July 15, MBC participated in the forum “Partnership 4SDGs”, organized by the UN Global Compact Network Georgia and dedicated to Georgia’s transition to a green economy.
As part of the forum, a representative of MBC’s Corporate Sustainability team participated in a panel discussion titled “Sustainable Finance in Practice: The Financial Sector as an Enabler of Georgia’s Green Transition.” The discussion focused on the role of the financial sector in advancing sustainable development, the importance of implementing ESG principles, as well as opportunities and existing challenges in sustainable finance.
The forum also provided an opportunity to discuss the strategies and green investment policies of international financial institutions (IFIs), the implementation of sustainable practices in the healthcare and hospitality sectors, and their impact on long-term business development.
According to Microbank MBC, participation in the forum was an important step toward sharing experience in sustainable finance and actively contributing to initiatives supporting the development of a green economy in Georgia.
“Sustainable finance is an important part of MBC’s long-term development strategy. For years, we have been strengthening our financial practices and actively supporting initiatives that contribute to Georgia’s transition to a green economy. We believe that international cooperation and knowledge sharing play an important role in this process,” said Gia Petriashvili, General Director of MBC.
It should be noted that Partnership 4SDGs is an annual forum that brings together international financial institutions, financial sector leaders, companies, business associations, and investors. This year’s event was held in Batumi with the support of Sweden, as part of the “Leadership for Sustainable Development” project.
