Women's Empowerment

Creating equal opportunities also means supporting women’s professional and economic empowerment. For us, this means creating opportunities for women to gain knowledge, develop professionally, showcase their businesses and access new opportunities, while supporting a work environment where women can realize their potential and pursue professional growth.

Microbank MBC is a signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and has actively supported their implementation since 2018, both within our organization and beyond it. We are proud that more than 60% of our team members are women, while women and men are equally represented in managerial positions.

At the same time, approximately 35% of our customers are women. This is another reason for us to place particular emphasis on access to financial services for women and on creating opportunities that support the development of their businesses. MBC implements various educational and practical initiatives in this area, including educational masterclasses and workshops, promoting products created by women entrepreneurs, raising public awareness and more.

For us, women’s empowerment also means creating an environment where equality, mutual respect and safety are part of everyday workplace culture. To support this, the microbank has a policy on preventing discrimination and sexual harassment, which establishes mechanisms for preventing, identifying, and responding to relevant cases.

In 2025, MBC received a special award at the annual WEPs conference in recognition of its long-term and consistent support for women’s economic empowerment. This recognition is another motivation for us to continue our efforts in this area.

Through women’s empowerment, we aim to encourage people to see opportunities from new perspectives and to rethink established views and stereotypes. We believe that when women are given the space to grow, realize their potential and make decisions, we create not only individual opportunities but also broader and more sustainable opportunities for society and the economy.
